"Sacredness and sacrilege. The disparagement of the sacred within the interconfessional dispute of the 16th century"
The Research Project investigates the mutual invectives between agents of the reformation and the old believers from the beginning of the reformation to the end of the 16th century. The investigation is centered on three topics: monasticism, saints and legends, which is complemented by researching the person Luther himself, the protestant legends ranking around him after his death and the catholic antilegends. The theoretical research interest is focused on the structural and escalative potential of invectivity.
