Aneignungen der Antike im Mittelalter

Inhalt
Als prominenteste antike Traditionen, die in der mittelalterlichen Literatur aufgegriffen werden, gelten die Geschehnisse um Alexander den Großen, den trojanischen Krieg und – eng damit verkoppelt – die Gründungsgeschichten um Aeneas. Geradezu paradigmatisch lassen sich hier Spannungsfelder komplexer Kontinuitäten und Diskontinuitäten zwischen Antike und Mittelalter zeigen. Im Zentrum der Vorlesung steht die einführende und vertiefende Auseinandersetzung insbesondere mit den mhd. Adaptationen antiker Stoffe in Romanform. Die Vorlesung bietet sich für Teilnehmer%innen der mediävistischen Einführungskurse ebenso an wie für fortgeschrittene Studierende.
