Admission requirements
Every person having a university degree in Education or a related discipline can be accepted. Special aptitude is given if two of the four following disciplines have been marked with at least "good":
• Empirical research methods
• Organisational Development
• Adult education / training
• Lifelong learning and education systems
It the aptitude cannot be derived from documents an aptitude interview is conducted.

Application hints and tips
If, at the time of application, proof of the first degree qualifying the applicant for a profession is not yet available, the application will be considered under the precondition that 80% of the credit points attainable for the degree have already been achieved based on completed module examinations or the final thesis and the colloquium (if applicable). A certification from the awarding institute of higher education (examination office) serves as proof of the above-mentioned academic achievements. General information for the degree programme
The graduates of the Master programme have in-depth knowledge in the areas listed below: Quantitative Research Methods and Multivariate Statistics; Organisational Theory, Modelling and Analysis; Quality Development in Continuing Education Organisations; Education Management; Approaches, Research Areas and the Current State of Research in Adult Education/Continuing Education and also Background Knowledge of Social History Regarding Aspects of Competence Development and Evaluation.
Moreover, the graduates acquired advanced knowledge in: Controlling in Educational Institutions; Education Systems in International Comparison; Higher Education System, Policy and Research; Structural Development and Control of Educational Systems; Competence Development by Continuing Education; Educational Technology; Teaching and Learning in Continuing Education; Occupational Physiology, Work Organisation and Structuring; Production and Management Systems; Arrangement of Working Time; Logistics Concepts; the Concept of Lifelong Learning from an International Perspective and also Life Course Research.
The graduates are able to: plan, conduct and evaluate research projects independently and problem adequately; analyse processes of continuing education research and organisational development and to assess their effects to be able to justify management decisions on a scientific basis; understand and critically evaluate qualitative and quantitative studies in the context of adult education/continuing education and also evaluate the competencies of teachers in continuing education; understand and assess the economic activeness of an educational institution; analyse and classify approaches and results of empirical life course research and put in the context of lifelong learning; analyse and evaluate practical forms of work and also justify management decisions regarding job design on a scientific basis; analyse teaching and learning processes in continuing education and assess their effects; analyse developments and change in educational systems and, in particular, political-administrative and institutional control problems and reflect the results from the perspective of education policy; integrate theory and practice, transferand apply learned concepts.
