Successful completion of the "Shaping Diversity" audit: TUD receives certification
On March 6, 2024, the TUD Dresden University of Technology (TUD) received the certificate for the successful completion of the "Shaping Diversity" audit. Vice-Rector University Culture Prof. Roswitha Böhm, Dr. Sylvi Bianchin, Head of Unit Diversity Management, and Sophie Zimdars, the coordinator of the audit, accepted the certificate in Berlin from the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft e.V..
The "Shaping Diversity" audit marks an important milestone for the TUD, as it created a procedural framework for anchoring diversity as a cross-cutting issue. Over 100 TUD members from various groups were actively involved in the audit. Within a two-year participation process, five workshops were held to identify needs and derive concrete measures. The process was supported by the steering committee of the Unit Diversity Management and the Vice-Rectorate for University Culture, with many stakeholders helping to shape this participatory approach. The result was not only an increased awareness of diversity at the university, but also the development of 36 concrete measures to anchor diversity in all areas of the university.
Some of these measures are already being implemented, while further steps are planned in consultation with the Extended University Executive Board.
