Data Management and Artificial Intelligence: On Challenges of the Future – 2023 ZKI Autumn Conference at TUD
The 2023 ZKI Autumn Conference will be held at TU Dresden's Auditorium Center from September 11 to 13, 2023. Entitled "Data Management and Artificial Intelligence: On Challenges of the Future," about 350 participants will experience an extensive program on current university-relevant issues, requirements and approaches to solutions.
"Research institutions are pioneers and trailblazers in ensuring sustainable quality, accessibility, reliability and security in data and information management. That necessitates transdisciplinary exchange. I am delighted that TU Dresden, as a University of Excellence with a leading role in Germany's digitalization, is hosting this year's ZKI Autumn Conference," said Prof. Ursula M. Staudinger, Rector of TU Dresden, at the opening.
Prof. Wolfgang Nagel, Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Digital Sciences (CIDS), provided insight into the strategic direction of IT and digitalization at TU Dresden at the conference: "The development and provision of high-performance solutions for science, research, teaching and administration at an internationally competitive level concerns and challenges all those involved in the scientific process: computer centers, committees, university leadership teams, government departments - and ultimately also the users."
Prof. Günther Hasinger from the German Center for Astrophysics made a connection to the emerging major research center with his presentation "Space Data in Lusatia". In the future, enormous amounts of data will converge in Lusatia. The resulting data storage and computing requirements will create an ideal field of application for the advancement of digital sciences.
