Mollier House Foundation
The Mollier House (Würzburger Straße) was donated to the Association of Friends and Sponsors of TU Dresden in 1994 to preserve the memory of Geh. Hofrat Dr. phil. and Honorary Dr.-Ing. Richard Mollier. It was intended to promote scientific exchange with scientists, academics and students from Germany and abroad, interaction between academics and citizens as well as university members and practitioners.
In 2009, the house was sold. In consultation with the community of heirs, the use of the proceeds obtained from the sale shall be used within the framework of the mission of the association for students with disabilities, in particular autism spectrum disorder. In consultation with the donor family, the group of those eligible for funding has been expanded since 2019 so that students with disabilities and chronic illnesses are also eligible to apply.
The range of support so far has included:
- Graduation scholarships for students and doctoral candidates
- Funding of a STEM EC scholarship
- One-time payments to help those in financial distress (e.g. Covid relief fund)
- Material cost subsidies
In addition, individual funding requests have increasingly been met.
