Commitment creates knowledge - knowledge creates commitment
The Association of Friends and Sponsors of TU Dresden (GFF) has set itself the task of promoting teaching and research at TUD, strengthening the reputation and charisma of the university and further supporting contacts with partners from research and industry. Each year, the support program comprises approximately 300 individual projects for applicants, students and researchers at TU Dresden, as well as competitions and calls for proposals. The diversity of the commitment ranges, among other things, from the support of student excursions to the awarding of various scholarships and the initiation of student projects.
Supporting has a long tradition
The supporting society was re-founded as a non-profit association in June 1991 on its 70th anniversary. Well-known personalities and companies as well as many former students of TU Dresden actively support the development of our university as members. They thus stand in a long line of tradition of private sponsors of the university, which began in 1842 with the first foundations and led to the founding of the society in 1921.
Enhancing networks
More than 600 members from science and industry, well-known companies and personalities from all areas of society form an interesting network. The diverse event program of the supporting society offers an 'excellent' platform for dialogue. In various formats, they have the opportunity to interact with university members and students and gain exclusive insights into the activities of TU Dresden.
