Microsoft SharePoint that is one part of the MS country contract is a powerful collaboration platform that offers a high potential for simplification, flexibility, acceleration and standardization of IT supported communications and collaborations in research and management at the universities in Saxony.
Therefore, the ZIH provides a central installation based on Microsoft SharePoint that is ready for use under https://sharepoint.tu-dresden.de
The basic service SharePoint includes the functions of a simple file storage service with central data storage , versioning and permissions management , as well as a full text search. This functionality is provided in site collections (as team or project site) that are administered locally (site administrators). The service can be used by all structural units of the TU Dresden as part of official duties only for teaching and research. Both team and project sites are supporting workgroup collaboration. Project sites are adapted to projects.

- Sites, dates, contacts, lists
- Standard quota 5 GB
- System backup for recovery (snapshots)
- 30 days safekeeping of deleted files in trash
Not included in basic service
- Anonymous access
- Public website
- Sensitive research data or personal data (only email and telephone contact are allowed)
- Large data sets like picture galleries, video collections or data backups
Providing
