CAATS - Collection of safety analysis technologies
The coordination of processes and methods for evaluating the safety within the air traffic is strived in the project CAATS (Cooperative Approach to Air Traffic Services). Through this it is meant to create a base being able to guarantee a safer air traffic in the future by a higher transparency within the application and performance of safety measures, despite the traffic flows, which become continuously more complex. These efforts are guided by the ambitions of the innovative ATM concepts as Single European Sky. CAATS is especially dealing with the target criteria safety and human factors because in the future the safety within the air traffic will be sustainably depended on the quality of human actions. As Team Expert the institute for aviation is active for both target criteria. The focus is on:
- Safety Management
- Safety Assessment Methods
- Safety Regulations
- Recovery from System Failures
- Human/ machine Interactions
