Apéro Littéraire: About Amin Maalouf with Torsten König
The Apéro Littéraire in March is dedicated to the French-Lebanese writer Amin Maalouf.
Author of more than fifteen novels and essays, winner of the Goncourt Prize, member of the Académie française and, since last year, its Secrétaire perpétuel, Maalouf is one of France's most influential contemporary writers and intellectuals. The protagonists of his captivating stories are travelers between cultures, between Europe and the south-eastern Mediterranean, between the present and history, and make us experience their diverse connections and interdependencies. The stories often reflect fundamental existential human experiences of our time, such as exile and war. In his essais, Maalouf astutely and clearly analyzes the cultural and social conflicts of the present in a global perspective, while at the same time pleading for understanding and exchange. You are cordially invited to join Dr. Phil. Torsten König in the usual informal and interactive literary discussion thanks to this multi-layered and in every respect very topical author!
