Language Training TU Dresden
Europe’s future is one characterized by shared interests and multi-national cooperation, meaning there is an increasing need for multilingual citizens who can communicate with each other smoothly and overcome the inherent language barriers. Due to the highly entwined […] economic and scientific relations across borders, foreign languages are considered an essential qualification nowadays, regardless of the field or profession.
In close cooperation with the TU Dresden, TUDIAS (Language Training TU Dresden) offers a wide range of language classes for students of all subjects (mandatory and elective). All language classes focus on study-related topics or professional development, with the ultimate goal being the acquisition of linguistic qualifications that are in demand by forward-looking institutes and organizations. Nearly 6,000 students take part in our language courses each semester, which are offered in 16 different languages, including classical Greek, Arabic, English, Finnish, French, Italian, Latin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Spanish, Czech, Chinese, Japanese, and German as a foreign language. Additionally, complimentary regional study courses are offered, for example on Eastern Asia (see East-Asia Centre) or Latin America (see Regional Studies on Latin America).
Every university student can attend 10 Semesterwochenstunden (SWS) of free language training, which equals 150 lesson units. Further information regarding mandatory language requirements can be obtained from the individual exam regulations of your faculty.
The offer is exclusively aimed at students of the TU Dresden.
All relevant information concerning the language courses which are not part of a linguistic faculty or language-focused degree can be found on the webpage of Language Training TU Dresden.
