Admission requirements
Prerequisite for the admission of the study:
• first in Germany recognised university degree that qualifies for a profession in Politics or Legal sciences or a study course with equal professional orientation or a degree in political science from a state or state-recognised university of cooperative education and
• knowledge of English at level B 2 and a further foreign language at level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) need to be proven. Notes to the required language skills. The proof is effected by presenting the university entrance qualification and successfully passed languages classes.
• in the Numerus clausus selection procedure, candidates with relevant practical professional experience of at least six months duration can obtain additional credit points.

Application hints and tips
If, at the time of the application, proof of the first degree that qualifies for a profession cannot yet be provided, applicants will be considered if 80% of the achievable points of the university degree can be proven by a certificate of the university of origin (Examining Office), on the basis of a completed module exam, assignment paper or colloquium. For Master study programmes with restricted admission (TU-NC), the certificate shall also include a provisional average mark, calculated on the basis of academic achievements already completed.
General information for the degree programme
The master´s programme in Politics and Constitution imparts profound knowledge regarding the interaction of political processes and underlying constitutional structures. Students acquire knowledge and analytical skills that are valuable for university and research institutions, for regional, national, European and international organizations and institutions (particularly administration) and for applied political science and academic policy counselling. Furthermore, the course of study prepares students for successful entrance into Ph.D. programmes.
The master’s programme consists of a core area (90 ECTS points) and a profile area (30 ECTS points). To fulfill the requirements of the profile area, students have the option to attend interdisciplinary lectures, complete an internship or study abroad.
