The members of TU Dresden are expressly called upon to play an active role in shaping an environmentally friendly and sustainable university . Funding can be applied for to implement own measures in the field of environment and sustainability. The applicant will receive funding from the Environment Commission if the submitted proposal is included in the Commission's annual catalog of measures . A jury of KU representatives evaluates the applications submitted.

The measures and projects that the Environment Commission supports through its initiative budget independently of the sustainability strategy action plan are presented below.

Final report

Measures funded by the Environment Commission must submit a final report by January 31 of the following year. Please use this template.

SustainAbility - student-organized basic lecture on Ecological Sustainability at the Green Office

The funding will continue in 2024. This is the first event at the TUD that provides a regular, low-threshold and barrier-free introduction to the topic of sustainability with its challenges, solutions and opportunities for action. It increases the accessibility of topics such as climate change and biodiversity loss and thus creates the basis for independent study.

AG Plants and Care

The reintroduced working group works with students to professionally maintain selected campus areas and upgrade them ecologically. Participants learn about climate resilience and material cycles on site, and a pool of tools is also being built up. Better-maintained areas are also an external advertisement and demonstration area for sustainable ecological action.

E-Cargo Bike: sustainable transportation of teaching materials and other technology for the Department of Hydro Sciences

The Department conducts research on ecological issues at different locations that are far away from each other. The Department's staff aim to carry out transportation and sampling between the Department's locations (Dresden, Pirna, Tharandt) and experimental permanent observation sites around Dresden in an environmentally friendly manner.

Demonstrator for oil-free heat pumps at the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering

This demonstrator shows that heat pumps can be built and operated oil-free and therefore conserve resources. Only environmentally friendly refrigerants are used. The demonstrator is available for teaching purposes in order to show future engineers in energy technology, mechanical engineering, etc., more environmentally friendly and sustainable technology options.
