Eduroam changeover (certificate exchange)

To ensure secure login to the “eduroam” Wi-Fi network, devices use certificates to verify that they are sending the login and password to a trusted server before establishing a connection. Specifically, they check whether the certificate offered by the Wi-Fi access point matches the certificate stored on the device.

With the current change of certificate provider at TU Dresden, it must be ensured that the certificates currently in use are available on the devices and are also classified as trustworthy there.

The eduroam server certificate currently used at TUD will expire on December 3, 2025. We plan to replace the certificate on November 27, 2025.
