Working in research
Table of contents
The TU Dresden supports scientists of all career levels in their daily tasks and their professional development. This is implemented concretely through supradisciplinary qualification offers, individual counseling and personal support such as mentoring and coaching.
Qualification programs for early-career researchers
TU Dresden actively supports early-career researchers to ensure continuity and development in various disciplines. The Graduate Academy (GA) is the central service point for all early-career researchers at TU Dresden. The GA provides targeted qualification programs, advice and coaching, scholarships, mentoring, and other support to assist and encourage early-career researchers in their career development.
Qualification programs for professors
The Center for Continuing Education (ZfW) offers a variety of continuing education opportunities for professors in the areas of leadership, legal basics and communication. In the area of higher education and media didactics, the Center for Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching (ZiLL) provides a comprehensive range of courses. Separate workshops, such as those offered by the Graduate Academy (GA) and the Diversity Management, complement the program. You benefit from scientifically based and practice-oriented workshops, moderated collegial exchange as well as individual coaching and team coaching with external coaches. Please feel free to contact us for counseling.
Good scientific practice
Learning about the standards of good scientific practice is essential. In order to comply with the highest ethical and qualitative standards in research and administration, it is key to be intimately familiar with the basic principles from an early stage. All academic staff and doctoral students at TUD are required by statute to complete at least one training session on the topic.
Moreover, certified staff at the five Schools of TUD, cfaed, CRTD , and in the DIGS-BB Graduate School provide discipline-specific training on good scientific practice. Contacts and trainers (PDF)
Export control and dual use
How can cooperation with industry partners and government authorities be brought into line with export control regulations? What mechanisms can be implemented to ensure the secure exchange of information? How can universities ensure the protection of intellectual property, especially for research with dual-use potential? How can they simultaneously promote the free exchange of knowledge and innovation? These and other questions will be addressed in the following events: Export control risks and dual use in international scientific collaborations (GER).
