Certificate: Diversity in Focus

Expand your understanding of diversity, equal opportunities and inclusion with our certificate course! You will learn to recognize and challenge prejudices and stereotypes, gain valuable tools for respectful communication and develop a deep awareness of structural disadvantages and discriminatory practices. This course enables you to analyze changes in your work environment and supports you in building long-term networks for mutual development.
Our modular course offers a varied mix of short and longer workshops, interactive e-learning, reflection discussions and diverse networking opportunities.
The target group is all TU Dresden employees.
Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive the Diversity Certificate.
Structure of the certificate program
The following courses are mandatory components of the certificate program.
The certificate program begins with a reflection discussion and the completion of a reflection sheet to introduce you to the process and give you the opportunity to think about possible points of contact with diversity in your private and work environment.

The subsequent basic workshop aims to improve your individual diversity competence and teamwork skills and to teach you how to deal constructively and appreciatively with difference.

In the self-study course, you will deepen your knowledge of the legal foundations of the AGG (General Equal Treatment Act).

During the Gallery Tour and Follow Up: Diversity at TU Dresden, you will learn about existing strategies, structures and support services that are used to promote diversity and inclusion at TU Dresden. In addition, you will reflect on your individual development in small groups.

The certificate program concludes with an individual written final reflection to summarize your experiences in the process and give you the opportunity to reflect on your personal and professional encounters with diversity. The final reflection should be submitted by 20.04.2025 at the latest.
Depending on your interests, you can choose in-depth courses from the main topics listed below. You can also attend courses that are not exclusively hosted and organized by the ZfW. If you are not sure whether a course can be counted towards the Diversity Certificate, please contact us. It is also possible to receive credit for further training already completed in the respective subject areas no more than four years ago. Please use your personal checklist, which you received at the reflection meeting, for courses for which there is no certificate of participation.
