Dealing with harassment, discrimination and violence
TU Dresden recognizes that our students and staff come from a variety of different backgrounds and represent different viewpoints, which all enrich education, research and campus life.
In the spirit of collective responsibility, we are working to shape an environment for work and study that enables individualized participation in a community that is accessible to all and free of discrimination. In line with our diversity-oriented, inclusive and transformative ambitions, mutual respect and appreciation are essential values at TU Dresden.
General House Rules for TU Dresden states: "Conduct which undermines or disturbs either the peaceful and respectful interactions between members and guests of the
university or the open and liberal atmosphere of the university is not allowed.
This especially applies to the use of labels, symbols and clothing with anticonstitutional, racist, xenophobic and inhuman
messages and those glorifying violence"
TU Dresden has assumed this responsibility of care by establishing a Complaints Office pursuant which is open to all employees and students in accordance with the "Guidelines for dealing with harassment, discrimination and violence". The TU Dresden's compliance management system is expanded with regard to appreciative collaboration.
TU Dresden is encouraging all members and affiliates of TU Dresden to speak up when incidents of (sexualized) harassment, discrimination, and violence occur.
Affected persons and/or their relatives can contact the complaints office, even anonymously, for advice on an appropriate course of action. This can be a referral to an appropriate counseling service or the initiation of an official complaint procedure.

In addition, members of the TU Dresden regularly have the opportunity to participate in various empowerment, awareness-raising and exchange formats.
Individuals who wish to share their specific experiences of discrimination in a group context in a protected setting or who wish to provide other advice on preventing harassment, discrimination and violence are very welcome to contact the contact person in case of incidents of harassment, discrimination and violence.
