Successful Leadership at TU Dresden
Overview
The aim of the program "Successful Leadership" is to strengthen and develop your leadership skills with specific workshop offerings, networking opportunities and individual coaching offers.
The program is available for all members of TU Dresden management in the areas of science, technology and administration.
Program structure
The program consists of a basic module and advanced workshops, as well as coaching offers and networking opportunities.
The basic module includes three group events which include the basics of team leadership and development as well as leadership communication. In order to achieve as much continuity in learning as possible and to support collegial exchange, the participants complete all events of the basic module in a fixed group (Staffel). The basic module is also intended to give participants the opportunity to network. An exchange among participants beyond the basic module is encouraged with an introduction to collegial case consultation.
In the advanced workshops, further leadership topics are strengthened. Registration for the workshops is possible according to individual needs.
All workshops within the program are in German language. If you want to organize a leadership workshop for your team in English, please contact us.

As part of our management program, we offer individual coaching and team coaching with external coaches, mediation with external mediators, and the organization of collegial case consultations:
- Individual coaching is a consulting service that focuses on your personal aims and concerns. In a confidential setting, these are discussed and options for action are developed together with the coach.
- Together with your team you have the possibility to participate in a team coaching. Accompanied by an external coach, you and your team reflect on potentials and challenges and plan further measures. In advance, a comprehensive clarification of needs takes place so that we can suggest suitable coaches to you.
- The collegial case consultation is a consultation among colleagues in which specific concerns from the professional context are discussed according to a predefined structure and solution approaches and ideas are developed together. In contrast to informal discussions, the focus is on a targeted and systematic exchange. The introduction to collegial case consultation is part of the basic module of the management program. We are also happy to organize and accompany meetings of managers for collegial case consultation after participation in the basic module.
- In mediation, specially trained mediators act as independent third parties to help resolve conflicts constructively. They are impartial, i.e. they support all sides and provide a framework in which everyone's view of the problem can be adequately appreciated. The goal of mediation is to reach a mutual agreement that meets the needs and interests of all parties and thus allows them to look constructively to the future. The proceedings themselves are confidential. As part of the further development of conflict management at the TU Dresden, a pool of mediators is available in cooperation with the Health Service and the Center for Continuing Education, who can be commissioned as needed, to supplement existing services.
