Joachim Wolf from University of Kiel as a Guest Speaker
Corona brings a variety of challenges for academic teaching. However, online courses also offer new opportunities, for example, inviting academic experts to join students for a quick chat despite a distance of 644 kilometers.
With this in mind, the participants in the course "Managing the Multinational Company" were delighted to receive a virtual visit from Prof. Dr. Joachim Wolf from Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel on November 26, 2021. Wolf holds the Chair of Organization and is the author of numerous books and professional articles in which he deals in particular with the topic of organizational structures of international companies.
The organizational structures of international companies were also the topic of the course at the time, so that the students were not only able to gain an insight into the scientific research work that fit the current topic, but were also offered a welcome change due to Joachim Wolf's lively and cordial manner. Wolf's research focus is matrix organization, which he has been empirically studying for more than 25 years. Regardless of the merits of virtual events, the students wish that Joachim Wolf would travel the 644 kilometers and stop by IHI for a personal visit in the near future.
