Teaching stay at Andrassý University Budapest
Here's Constantin's report:
Dear IHI Community,
I would like to take this opportunity of the IHI - Newsletter to give you a little insight into my teaching stay in Budapest.
The journey to the capital of Hungary was a scenic train ride on the Euro-City from Dresden via Prague and Brno (CZ) to the destination station Budapest-Keleti. With the support of the AUB, a reserved guest room was already waiting for me there in the student dormitory of the Central European University (CEU) in the north of the city. The first two days in the city were spent acclimatizing and visiting cultural sights such as the Hungarian Parliament and a boat trip on the Danube.
The winter semester at the German-language Andrassy University started the week of my arrival. With the return to face-to-face classes under 3G - conditions, the traditional university building in the heart of Budapest was lively as it had not been since the beginning of the Corona pandemic. In a personal meeting, Pro - Rector Dr. Georg Trautnitz explained to me my teaching duties for the coming fortnight. In the Master's program Management & Leadership I was allowed to prepare and conduct various lectures on the topic of foreign market entry forms.
In a guest office of the AUB I was able to work undisturbed and at the same time intensively exchange ideas with my friendly and helpful colleagues from Hungary and Germany. A highlight of my time at our partner university was the Digital Transformation and Sustainability in Global Finance conference organized by the AUB.
In addition to the professional and didactic training, I was also able to enjoy the cultural benefits, the international flair and the exciting nightlife of Budapest in late summer. The hospitality shown by the AUB made it easy for me to feel very comfortable right away. After two weeks, it was all the more difficult for me to say goodbye.
I will have fond memories of my time in Budapest and am already looking forward to another visit to AUB. For students who are interested in AUB as well as for colleagues who need further information about Erasmus+ Staff Mobility, I am always available to talk to.
With kind regards,
Constantin Scharf
