Admission requirements
1. first in Germany recognised university degree that qualifies for a profession in Business and Economics or a related study course or a degree in Business and Economics from a state-owned or state-recognised university of cooperative education [Berufsakademie]
2. For the determination of the aptitude special knowledge is required.
Suitable candidates:
• have obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business and Economics with a major in the field of Business Management at TU Dresden or
• have a university degree recognised as being equivalent for which at least 90% of achievements has been acquired at a state-recognised university
• can prove the acquisition of at least 52 credits (ECTS) of not intersecting content from the area of Business Management, as well as of at least 40 credit points (ECTS) according to the following catalogue :
• Economics, of at least 20 credit points (ECTS) of not intersecting content,
• Mathematics, Statistics, and quantitative/qualitative procedures to the extent of at 20 credits (ECTS) of not intersecting content
Aptitude assessment and NC (numerus clausus) selection procedures
The participation in an aptitude assessment or selection procedure is a prerequisite for enrollment in this degree program. Please note that the deadline for submitting an application may be earlier than the application deadlines for the degree program (see above under application deadlines). Notes on the application process
If, at the time of application, proof of the first degree qualifying the applicant for a profession is not yet available, the application will be considered under the precondition that 80 % of the credit points attainable for the degree have already been achieved based on completed module examinations or the final thesis and the colloquium (if applicable). A certification from the awarding institute of higher education (examination office) serves as proof of the above-mentioned academic achievements. The certification should also contain a preliminary average grade calculated on the basis of completed graded academic work. You can find the appropriate form on the Admissions Office website.
General information about the degree program
The Master's degree in Business Administration provides a sound research-oriented management education. You will acquire the methodological and technical knowledge to analyze complex business management problems and develop solutions. For your path to a managerial career, you will have a wide range of topics in business administration at your disposal, which you can delve into according to your own interests.
Study contents
The Master's degree program in Business Administration has a clear and straightforward structure. There are no compulsory modules, just an extensive elective area with various fields and the Master's thesis. The total workload is 120 credit points.
The elective area (100 credit points) starts with the first semester. It allows you to broaden and deepen your knowledge (almost) at your will by choosing modules in business administration, methods and procedures, presentation and discussion, research design, and supplementary qualifications. You can combine these modules very freely, considering only simple point limits for the fields.
For further specialization, you may opt for profiles. The business administration profiles Accounting and Finance, Learning and Human Resource Management, Management and Marketing, Operations and Logistics Management, and Sustainability Management and Energy Economics comprehensively cover classic and innovative subjects.

The degree program concludes with the Master's thesis (20 credit points), in which you work independently on a research question in business administration. You will receive methodological and thematic support from research design modules.

Your career prospects as a business administration graduate are excellent. You are in demand in practically every company (and not only there) and can work in almost all sectors, from consumer goods, service and industrial companies, financial institutions, and management consulting to public administration. Usually, you take on management positions in core areas of companies (finance and accounting, corporate planning, controlling, marketing and sales, production and logistics, organization, and human resources), being well-prepared for self-employment, too.
