When refugees become scientific partners
Usually, Prof. Oksana Makovoz teaches Corporate Social Responsibility at the Chair of Management at TU Charkiv, Ukraine. As a refugee from this heavily bombarded city, she arrived at Großschönau in our region. Now, she's the key to a new scientific cooperation of IHI Zittau.
At a visit at IHI Zittau, Prof. Makovoz and IHI's director Prof. Claus as well as Prof. Eckert, programme coordinator of International Management, were impressed by the huge academic overlappings of both institutions and arranged a first cooperation VC with the dean of the Faculty of Management, Prof. Olena Prokhorenko, the director of the Institute of Management at TU Kharkiv, Prof. Nataliia Krasnokutska, and the programme coordinator of International Business, Prof. Taras Danko, to discus the possibilities of a future collaboration.
By the way: The summer semester at TU Kharkiv, as Prof. Makovoz was underlining, is running "almost normally" - despite the fact, that students and academic teachers are linked together only only, finding themselves scattered all over Europe - if not involved in defending one's city and country...
