Fireplace talk
Women in science are often faced with a lot of questions: How can I shape my scientific career? Which stays abroad will bring me further? How do I get enough scientific publications despite parenthood? How do I present myself properly at the upcoming symposium? At what stage of my scientific qualification is starting a family beneficial?
The answer to all these questions is very individual and strongly subject-dependent. Different subject cultures, personal curricula vitae, career paths and support structures must all be taken into account. There is no patent remedy for a career in science. But there are career development programs for female scientists in the qualification phase that help them find answers to their own questions and thus their personal path to science.
At the fireplace talks, female scientists have the opportunity to talk to experienced professors in a relaxed atmosphere and learn more about their paths to science and possible stumbling blocks along the way.
