Presentation of the Faculty
According to the CHE research ranking, physics at TU Dresden is in the top group of all German universities in each of the three areas of research, internationality and application orientation.
In the study program, a broad physics education is imparted at the highest level with a strong research orientation and an international focus. In addition, physics trains teachers. Research takes place in an environment that is unique in the world. This is because a large number of non-university institutions are networked with the TU Dresden within the framework of DRESDEN-concept. Students participate in research projects at an early stage and can pursue their scientific curiosity in areas of fundamental as well as applied research.

What will Dresden look like in 30 years? Will the city of tomorrow be greener and more sustainable? And how will we move around the city in the future? Susanne takes a closer look at this topic and meets scientists and students from TU Dresden who are working on the city of tomorrow in their research. (Video language: German)
Alumni Portraits
A „child of the uni“ with a love for research Angela Francke started a degree in Transport Economics at TU Dresden in 1998 because she wanted to run her own hotel. During her first few semesters, her focus changed. Today, the 42-year-old from Dresden holds one of just seven chairs in cycling in all of Germany at the University of Kassel. read more

Studying is more than a timetable, lecture hall and books. Therefore, we have compiled a few more useful links. Whether in the lecture hall center, in the lab or in the cafeteria; soon you will know your way around here and then also find the time to discover and enjoy Dresden and its surroundings for yourself.
