Equal Opportunities
Gender equality policy is a core responsibility of any university and, at the same time, a major challenge.
TU Dresden is committed to the goal of creating a gender-equal and family-friendly university and has anchored this goal both in its mission statement and basic regulations. For TU Dresden, gender equality is closely linked to being a family-friendly university – not in order to continue a traditional division of labor within families, but in order to create a work-life balance for everyone, which is the basis for reconciling careers with the realization of family plans. This is why in recent years TU Dresden has increasingly taken steps to pursue the goals of gender equality and a family-friendly university. With the Equality Concept and the Women's Advancement Plan, we aim to make gender and diversity understandable and manageable for everyone by setting realistic, qualitatively and quantitatively measurable goals.
TU Dresden is a diverse place! It is essential that everyone – students, employees and guests – feels welcome and empowered to reach their full potential. Gender-inclusive communication is one component of many on the way to achieving this goal. Against this background, the following guidelines for gender-inclusive communication were developed in a far-reaching, participative process at TU Dresden to support you in using gender-inclusive language.
