Central point of contact
Unit Diversity Management is the coordination and networking office for all activities undertaken to improve equal opportunities at TU Dresden. One of the focal points of their work is the inclusion of people with impairments.
Study and teaching
Individual counseling and study organization
As contacts for all questions concerning studying with a health impairment at TU Dresden, the Liaison Officers for Students with Disabilities and Chronic Illnesses offer support helping students to decide on and apply for a degree program, to organize their studies and to complete their academic careers.
The Admissions Office provides support, among other things, with hardship applications and clarification of study requirements.
An individual personal consultation is possible with the Study and Disability interest group (IGB).
The ServiceCenterStudies and the Central Student Information and Counseling Service help with uncertainties, doubts and problems in all phases of studying.
At the Student Council (StuRA), students can get advice from their peers. A special contact for questions about studying with impairments is also available here.
Also, the Studentenwerk helps with questions about studying with impairments.
Continuing education
The Services Disability and Studies group (AG SBS) not only advises and supports affected students and prospective students, for instance by providing a transfer service for getting accessible literature for people with disabilities, but also offers regular training courses for teachers and staff on the preparation of documents to make them accessible for people with disabilities.
The Dresden Writing Center is the central point of contact for all aspects of academic writing as well as key skills relevant to studies and professional life.
An overview of continuing education programs and consulting opportunities for instructors on university teaching accessible for people with disabilities can be found at the Center for Continuing Education (ZfW).
Everyday work
Unit 4.5 Occupational Safety advises and supports all employees and students with matters of occupational safety, health safety and fire protection.
Career Service advises on career entry and offers an application document check.
Unit 9.4 Occupational Health Services provides health protection tips and works to promote a healthy lifestyle.
The Personnel Representation Council is the representation of employees’ interests vis-à-vis their public employer and works for their welfare.
The Disabled Persons Representative promote the hiring of people with disabilities and provide advice.
Inclusion
Contacts
The Advisory Council on Inclusion is the central networking body concerned with the inclusion of people with impairments and chronic diseases at TU Dresden.
The Inclusion Representatives of the Employer assist in the design of classrooms and buildings to ensure their accessibility to people with disabilities. In addition, they advise doctoral students with employment.
Projects
Through the Education Specialists – Quabis project, people with “cognitive impairments” are trained as knowledge mediators for the design of teaching at universities.
The project Inclusive University 2: Quality Analysis of Inclusive University aims at optimizing the measures for an inclusive university by means of evaluation and assessment.
The project Inclusive Teaching and Consulting evaluates which knowledge about which understanding of inclusion prevails among academic advisors.

The Verso Group is a company promoting comprehension-oriented language in a public context. Graduate linguists develop accessible and comprehensible communication formats for institutions and companies. Lectures and continuing education on communication for people with disabilities are also offered.
