dgti supplementary ID card
The dgti supplementary identity card is a standardized identity document that is intended to make everyday life easier for trans* persons without an official change of civil status or first name. It displays all self-selected personal data and is linked to the identity card. Stressful or discriminatory situations that arise from the official ID card can be prevented when using the supplementary ID card.
The dgti supplementary ID card is recognized by the TU Dresden and can be used by students and employees.
This FAQ is intended to facilitate the use of the dgti supplementary ID card and to answer frequently asked questions.
General Questions
The dgti supplementary identity card is a non-official document. The ID card is recognized by the legislator, but it is not subject to any recognition obligation. It falls under the freedom of the universities to decide on the recognition of the document.
The university public was informed about the recognition of the dgti supplementary ID card at the end of December 2020 (link to the notification). Nevertheless, it may happen that individual offices are not yet fully familiar with the topic or have not yet been able to gain experience with the supplementary ID. In this case, please refer to this FAQ, the above-mentioned notice or official contact persons.
Study matters
Currently, it is not possible to indicate that the name should be based on the dgti supplementary ID card when applying. Therefore, please contact the enrollment office or international office directly with this request.
At present, changes of first name or gender must be sent informally (by e-mail) to the Enrollment Office or International Office via the ServiceCenterStudium, enclosing the dgti supplementary ID card.
In case of doubt, the ID card should be able to be shown during exams, as the dgti supplementary ID card is linked to it via the ID card number.

Technical questions
In SAP and CampusNet "diverse" can be set as gender entry. In IDM, this information cannot yet be implemented when creating a user person in the IDM frontend of SD. Here the information is treated like "No specification".
In SAP and CampusNet, the entry for gender can be left blank. However, since the gender entry is identity-forming for IDM, it must be translated to a value equivalent to "No specification". This is guaranteed.
Salutations can be assigned to specific entries in SAP and CampusNet. In IDM, the assignments female and male are addressed with "Dear Ms." and "Dear Mr." respectively. "No specification", the representative value for empty and "diverse", on the other hand, leads to the salutation "Good day First name Last name". The ticket system of the Service Desk is based on the IDM.
When a name change is reported to IDM via SAP or CampusNet, a new email address is formed in IDM and usually set as the new primary alias so that you are automatically associated with the correct address. However, you must apply for any required certificates on your own. Your display name in MS Exchange (⇒), on the other hand, is set automatically. If you are a guest, you must report the name change to the Service Desk so that ZIH can make the change in IDM.
Login names are not changed by name changes.
University-wide, changes are implemented at approximately the same time. A change in SAP or CampusNet usually takes a maximum of 24 hours until it is also implemented in IDM and delivered to the receiving systems.
Use the self-service portal of the TU Dresden for this purpose. As a student:in you can also use the selma for the verification.
